How do I love thee?

Hi, my name is Dana, and I'm an addict.

What am I addicted to you ask?
Harry Potter.

I can't help it. There was a time in my life when I could answer the most ridiculous question about HP. Now I have mellowed a little bit, but my love has not lessened an ounce. J.K. Rowling is a genius and the more I study the more of her genius I discover.

To be fair, the movies are nothing special. They are amazing and fun, yes, but in comparison to the books they fall flat every time. Especially Ginny in the movies, yuck, who would want to kiss her? Shes not even funny or a real person. Anyways. The new trailer came out fairly recently, and I can't wait! I really have a great feeling about this one. And you know what makes me even more excited??? They're showing it in 3D. You know how I feel about 3D. This movie is going to change my life (hopefully).

In true HP trailer fashion, the trailer doesn't show anything explicitly, so if you haven't read the book you have no idea what they're showing, but it still looks exciting! And sometimes even the most seasoned reader gets excited by the prospect of a new interpretation!!

Here it is folks, this is one you'll want to watch full screen, and hit repeat multiple times. All in all, its going to be EPIC (and I don't use that word lightly).

  2. If you look on JSTOR, you can find an article about how Freudian psychology influenced J.K. Rowling in her Moaning Myrtle-bathroom sequence in the second novel. HAHAHA!! I haven't read it, but a librarian told me about it.

  3. I got chills as I watched this. Seriously. Even on my calves, and it is difficult to get chills there. I'm not a fan of the movies at all, but this one looks incredible!!!The calf chills have never been wrong before . . .

I need to re-read all of the books in preparation for this!

  4. It's pretty incredible that they were able to have all the same actors (with the exception of dumbledore) for all 7 (eh, 8) movies.

So this trailer is for both parts, i'm guessing we'll get another awesome one for the grand finale? Where are they going to cut the movie in half? Will it end with a special to be continued, then be sold as one mondo movie on DVD? So many questions I have.

Twilight fans can suck it. Harry Potter rules.

  5. Ok so I just rewatched the trailer again. Why is it that when books are made into movies there is so much new dialogue? There is plenty in the books, why do the writers feel the need to change or add in completely new stuff? Do they think they can do it better? They want to put their own stamp on it? And so much of the new dialogue for Harry Potter movies in particular is really lame and cheesy. Rant over.

  7. I heart the Harry Potter verse. My personal heaven will be strongly influenced by Hogwarts. But I cannot in good conscience let the "Motion Picture Event of Our Generation" comment stand. We're still 'talkin bout my generation' and it's within 10 years of LOTR. Shame on you, media magnates, for thinking we could be so forgetful. I will have both Fred and George's children.
